IN THE STYLE OF DALÍ

The third graders were working on Spanish surrealism in our eTwinning project:

ART DOESN'T KNOW BORDERS. 

They chose these paintings by Dalí because they found the idea of very heavy elephants with such thin legs very inspiring. This is one of the originals we observed:

Step 1: Draw the elephants following oral instructions and trace the lines with markers.

Step 2: Take a wet brush and go over the lines, so the water turns into watercolour.

Step 3: Colour the background with wax crayons and draw shadows of the elephant's legs.

Step 4:  Cut a piece of paper and paste it on the elephant.
