In this collaborative activity, the fourth grade students made different models of paper aeroplanes in groups and then tested in the playground to see which model travelled the longest distance.

Introduction to volume in Arts and Crafts

In Arts class the Primary 2 students have been building 3D
geometric shapes with play dough and sticks. 

They learned how to create volume with the prism, the pyramid and the cone.  

They really felt like architects. 

It seems easy but it has its difficulties, if you don't believe us, try it yourself!

SCOTTISH HIGHLAND GAMES

Primary 2 children have been taking part in the Highlands games as part of their PE subject.

They were divided into clans and each clan designed their own flag.

They took part in five games inspired by traditional Highland games, such as caber toss, hammer throw and races, competing against each other.

They had a great time on a wonderful sunny day (certainly quite different from the usual weather in the North of Scotland...).

etwinning school label 2024-2025

The CEIP Cesáreo Alierta has been awarded with the eTwinning School Label 2024-2025.

This is a great achievement by the eTwinning team in our school.

COLLABORATIVE ART PROJECT IN 5TH GRADE. FINAL OUTCOMES

All the groups have done a wonderful job and we hope to be able to exhibit their work at school this term so that everybody can learn a little more about the art that we have enjoyed and learnt last term.

As you could see on this Blog last January, Primary 5 pupils have been doing a mini research project on different artists during the second term. They chose three artists they would like to research: Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, Diego Velázquez, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso and Leonardo Da Vinci. Based on their choices, they got into groups to work.

Using the tablets, they entered the 5th Primary Arts Site, where, using videos and texts in both Spanish and English, they searched for information to answer their questions.

The result had to be put on a poster board, which had to contain the answers to the questions and at least one of the works of the artist they were working with. They gave the presentation in English to the whole class.

What struck them was that each one self-evaluated their work, results, effort and learning. In addition, they evaluated their peers in their presentation based on criteria that they knew from the beginning of the project.

But one of the things that the students have learnt the most in the project is to work and organise a team to obtain the expected results, because working in a team is much more difficult than working alone. And of course, to know and recognise works of Art, styles of painting, and that most of the artists' lives were full of strong emotions that they captured in their works.

St PATRICK´S DAY 2024

Last St Patrick's Day was on a Sunday, but the following week in school we learnt some facts and vocabulary about this Irish festivity and we also made a nice little craft. 

EASTER EGG HUNT 2024

This is how we celebrated Easter at Cesáreo Alierta School. 

The 3 year olds, helped by the "big ones" from 2nd Primary, the 4 year olds together with the 1st Primary and the 5 year olds, showing that they are the oldest in Infants, 😊 had a great time in our classic Easter Egg Hunt, with a sweet surprise at the end! 

 

WINTER CLOTHES

 The three year olds have been learning the vocabulary of winter clothing in a manipulative way with these giant cut-outs.

NUESTRO PREMIO NACIONAL EN LAS JORNADAS AUTONÓMICAS DE DIFUSIÓN eTWINNING

El día 7 de marzo Rebeca, Josemi y Ana presentaron nuestro proyecto ganador del Premio Nacional CALLING FOR EARTH HEROES en las Jornadas Autonómicas de Difusión eTwinning en el CIFE Juan de Lanuza. 

COLLABORATIVE ART PROJECT IN 5th GRADE

We have started a new project in the Arts lessons. We are going to work in teams, investigate about a famous artist and prepare a presentation about his/her life and works with tablets. We are excited about tablets! 

Velázquez, Miró, Monet, Frida Kahlo, Picasso... For now, all together, we have met Eva Armisén, an artist from Zaragoza with a great international career. We can see one of her works when we return by tram home, direction Valdespartera, have you found it yet?
